Cleaning Instructions:

Barrel cleaning:

  1. Using a cleaning rod, bore brush and solvent, work the wet brush through the barrel, starting from inserting the brush through the chamber. This step loosens the residue in the barrel.  Regular cleaning is best; however, if it has been a while, you may have to work this step some extra time.

  2. Replace the brush with a Jag. Using Wet patches, work the rod and jag back and forth through the barrel, again starting from the chamber.

  3. Repeat step 2, this time with Dry patches, work the rod and jag back and forth through the barrel until the patches remain clean.

  4. Use a solvent soaked rag, wipe up the exterior surface of the barrel, as well as the muzzle, feed ramp and barrel hood.  If this is really dirty, it may be best to start with a tooth brush soaked in solvent.

  5. Make certain the barrel is clean and dry (especially inside).

Slide Cleaning:

  • Using a solvent soaked rag, toothbrush and Q-tips, clean the underside of the slide. Caution: Do not insert solvent (or oil) into the firing pin channel (the hole opposite the firing pin safety) (Figure C - #1). A good way to keep solvent from getting into this channel is to keep the slide pointed muzzle down while performing this step.

  • Using a clean, dry rag, wipe the underside of the slide completely. Make sure the slide rail cuts, the breech face and the area under the extractor claw are clean and dry.

  • Wipe the top of the slide with your solvent rag and dry with clean rag.

    1. Cleaning the receiver:

    2. Using a rag, lightly dampened with solvent, wipe the inside of the receiver. Important areas to wipe are the locking block, ejector, connector and cruciform.
